How does a small child perceive the world around us Is it round or pointed, yellow or blue? Or maybe it's green and oblong or hollow, but at the same time soft The world of cognition of a child (in its first years) is composed of a variety of geometric shapes and colors.
Famous Lithuanian choreographer Birut? Banevi iūt and dancers Giedr? Subotinait?, Indr? Bacevi?iūt? and Mantas Staba?inskas put these colored shapes together as a puzzle and miraculously these forms combine to create recognizable vegetables- carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers-and sometimes even unrecognizable shapes, strange mushrooms, fruits and flowers appear. During the performance traveling through the child's developmental stages, dancers behave as children, acting out each phase: for instance crawling and bouncing as one year olds, walking, running and clapping as two year olds and galloping, hiding and turning around as three year olds. These children's movements are accompanied by specially created music composed of high and simple sounds understandable for children ages 0-3. This performance was nominated by the Ministry of Culture as the best children's performance of 2012.
